It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of John Miller on September 9, 2023 at the age of 77 at the Guelph General Hospital surrounded by his family.
Loving husband to Carol for 54 years. Devoted father to Daryl (Muniza). Proud grandfather to Dashiell. Cherished brother to Rick (Linda). Treasured uncle to Scott (Karla), Chad, and Sandra (Brian). He will be missed by his sister in law Diane. Predeceased by his brother Bill (2020), his father Jack (1985), his mother Rose (2022), and his niece Wendy (2016). He will be missed by all his friends and extended family.
John was very much a family man and his family always came first. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and husband. He absolutely loved golf and fishing, and really enjoyed talking to people.
His wife Carol would like to thank the nurses at the Guelph General Hospital, Father Boyd, the first responders, and her neighbours her friends. She would also like to thank her family, especially Daryl and Rick who have been her rock through this.
Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph, cremation has taken place. The family invites friends and relatives for a visitation on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 1:00pm – 5:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma St. Guelph, on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 10:30am followed by an urn burial at Marymount Cemetery. All guests are welcome to join following the cemetery for a reception in the Hart Fellowship Lounge.
As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Sick Kids Foundation or Holy Rosary Church.
