She was born on April 18th, 1935 in Ottawa. She was the only child to Charles Reeves Powell and Gertrude Mary Powell (nee Thomas).
Beloved wife to Wesley Nelson Henry for 67 wonderful years. Dear mother to Sheree (Andrew), Brian (Gina), and Cathy. Proud Grandmother, or "Nana" to Patrick (Cailyn), Megan, Jeffrey, Justin (Katelyn), Robbie, and Sarah (Antoine). Treasured great grandmother to Annie Marie and Austin Samuel.
Joan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a very quiet soul with a heart of gold. She enjoyed her summers at the beach and tending to her fabulous rose bushes.
Mom, we will all miss you dearly.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph, cremation has taken place. As per her wishes, the family will be having a small private graveside service.
