Harron, Jean: Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Guelph General Hospital in her 81st year. Born Jean Melinda Hopf on December 1, 1932 in Walkerton, Ontario. Loving mother to Joanne (Doug) Bryant, Bradley (Barbara) Harron, Rick (Colleen) Harron and Terry Harron. Proud Nana to Kerri and Rob Bryant, Bradley Harron (Riki Hearsum), Brandon Harron(Morgan)and Chad (Cherri Alger-Harron) Harron and Chelsea (Eric) Gibson. Great Grandmother to Grayson, Paisley, Alisha, Madison, Matthew, Savannah, Kayla and Cadence Harron. Dearly loved sister of Alfreida (Lloyd) Gutscher of Walkerton, Patricia Schiestel and Wayne Day of Bluevale, Marlene (Ron) Whitehead of Kitchener, Dorothy (Clark) Fortune of Chesley, Shirley (Roy) May of Conn, Ronald (Myrtle) Hopf of St. Thomas, Donald Hopf of Owen Sound, George (Eileen) Hopf of Hanover and Jacob Jr. (Carol) Hopf of Forest. She was predeceased by her parents, Loretta and Jacob Hopf and by her sisters Betty (Henry) Lane and Madeline Hopf (infant). Jean was an active member and Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 234 Ladies Auxiliary and a long time volunteer at St. Joseph's Health Care Centre in Guelph. She was well known for her beautiful creations at local craft sales, her baking and preserves. Jean loved the Toronto Blue Jays, her gardens and her dog Willie. Cremation has taken place. As per her wishes, a Celebration of Life, an informal gathering of family and friends to remember and reminisce will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St., Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 234 Ladies Auxiliary, St. Joseph's Health Care Centre or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
