Iain Paterson Rome

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Iain Paterson Rome on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Hospice Wellington, Guelph at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Jean Cameron Rome. Loving father of Jennifer Cameron Black and her husband Timothy Grant Black, Iain Alexander Rome and his wife Tammy Rome, and the late Andrew Russell Rome (July 20, 2019). Devoted grandfather of Madison Cameron Clark (Noel Starr), Kiera Helen Clark, Noah Warren Rome and Camden McIlwraith Rome. Iain is survived by his sister Ann Delano Galbraith and his brother Andrew Russell Rome. Iain will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Iain was predeceased by his parents Stanley Russell and Helen Smith Rome and by his sister Helen Ann Connolly.

Iain was a proud Scot, a loving husband, a devoted father and a wonderful friend to many. He will be greatly missed.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph. Iain’s family will receive relatives and friends for a Memorial Visitation on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. A Memorial Service will be held in the Hart Chapel at 2:00pm. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Fellowship Lounge. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Hospice Wellington or to the Foundation of the Guelph General Hospital would be appreciated.
