Peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Helen (Dingman) in her 93rd year was the beloved wife of the late Marcello (Archie) Bolzon (2014). She was the loving mother of Brenda and her husband Jim Taylor of Guelph, David and his wife Laurie of Ottawa, and the late Mark Bolzon (2008). Helen was the proud grandmother of Derek (Patty), Darryl (Leslie) Taylor and Carli (Mike) Rietkerk, and Denis (Aicha), Alex (Melissa) and Rachel Bolzon, and Jaclyn (Josh) Aaron and Elizabeth Bolzon, and great grandmother of Olivia and Alexandra Taylor, Nixon and Cohen Taylor, Brooklyn and Austin Rietkerk. Sofia and Anthony Bolzon and Jaiden Bolzon. Helen is predeceased by her brothers Walter Watchus, Raymond and Douglas Dingman.
While raising a family, Helen and Archie worked hard as owners of Guelph National Bakery on Paisley Road from 1951-1968. After selling the business, they spent many years racing standardbred horses and eventually settled on wintering in Florida for over 25 years enjoying the company of family and friends. Club dances were the highlight of their stay along with gardening, playing cards and bocce games.
Mom (Grandma) was always there for all family outings and events and was a great listener when you needed a shoulder. She will be sincerely missed.
We would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington for their exceptional care and attention to Mom as well as the Paramed PSW’s for helping our Mom maintain her quality of life at home for the past year.
Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19, a Celebration of Life and private burial will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Hospice Wellington in her memory would be appreciated by the family.
