TURNER, Edwin Stanley - Eddie had a long and adventurous life. His journey ended with his family around him on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at his residence, Guelph. Loving husband of Joan and dear father to Anne Luton of Unionville, Jane Denner of Lincoln, Mass. and Jocelyn Turner of Guelph. Cherished grandfather of Rob Luton, Jesse McCann, Julian, Alexa Jane, Quinn Denner, Jeremy Hawkins; and cherished great-grandfather of Robert James (RJ). Dear brother of Frances McDermott of Round Lake, Ont. and Albert of British Columbia. Predeceased by his parents, Albert and Jessie Turner and a brother, Harold. We treasure the memory of our husband, dad and grandfather. A happy, generous man, Eddie began each day with gratitude, whistling a song that lifted everyone's spirit. Eddie loved life and people to the fullest; lyricist and a song for every occasion. Eddie was a cavalry cadet and veteran of the Second World War where he rose to Captain with the Royal Canadian Engineers. He was a sailor, navigator and world - traveller. He established the veterinary pharmaceutical firm of Stevenson, Turner and Boyce (STB) in 1951 in Guelph with his two partners, Dr. Gordon Stevenson and Ralph Boyce. In later years he fished the Atlantic and loved his friends on his beloved Hutchinson Island, Fla. Eddie will be sorely missed. Memorial Service will be held at St. James the Apostle Anglican Church, Paisley and Glasgow Streets, Guelph on Friday, June 19, 2009, at 1 p.m. As expression of sympathy donations to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home , Dublin Chapel , 519-822-4731 or send condolences at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com).
