BROUSSEAU, Douglas Jules Passed away with his family by his side at Hospice Wellington on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in his 79th year. Predeceased by his parents Albertine (Leduc) and Jules (Charlie) Brousseau. Beloved husband of Vivian (Fitzpatrick) for 55 years. Dear father of Barry and his wife Sue of Guelph, Lorrie and her husband Brad Taylor of Guelph, Randy and his wife Ann of Fergus and Shelley and her husband Wayne Holmes of Guelph. Loving Papa to Devon Taylor (Robin), Jonathan Brousseau, Crystal-Sue Brousseau, Meagan Taylor (Mario Pieries), Ian Brousseau, Braiden Brousseau, David Brousseau, Jesse Holmes, Courtney (Rob) Fudger, Brooke Phillips (Geordie McCullough), Andy (Julie) Hodgins, and Phillip (Jolene) Hodgins. Treasured Great Papa to Logan, Corey, Madeline, Noah, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Jaden, McKenna, Courtney, Jordan, Sierra, Isaac and Jonas. Loved brother to Patricia (Bob Dobbie) of Cambridge. Dear brother in law to Gerald Fitzpatrick (Deceased), Bernice Laurenceson (Ken deceased), Lucy and Jack Smith (both deceased), Marlene and Paul Herlihey, Eleanor and Lloyd Metcalf (both deceased), Frank and Iola MacTaggart, Cliff Fitzpatrick (Betty Deceased) and Carol Fitzpatrick. Uncle Doug to many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Dearest friend to Tom Grimshaw of Guelph, Marg Wellhauser of Tonawanda, NY and Clara Ross of Land-O-Lakes, Florida. Doug was a master electrician by trade and successfully ran his own electrical contracting business for many years, advertising “Let us Remove Your Shortsâ€. In addition to his family and friends, Doug greatly enjoyed animals, especially dogs, antique cars, his gun collection and target shooting. He spent many hours puttering in his shed, helping anyone who asked to fix just about anything, often misplacing his tools. Snow birds for over twenty years, Doug and Vivian made many friends in Florida, in addition to the many people he has touched here, including his friends at the Sportsmen Club of Galt. A special thanks to his support network at AA for over 35 years, and all the health care workers who have helped with his care over the last few months as his health declined. Memorial Visitation will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph where the family will receive friends on Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
