After a courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by his loving family, it is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dino Joseph Fraresso at the age of 82 on Monday, April 14, 2025.
Dino leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years Veronica (Ronnie). Dino was a devoted and loving father to his daughters, Christine Bunnaman (Dave) and Paula Psenicka (Adrian Stevens). He adored and cherished his grandchildren; Kyla Bolger (Mark), Kiera van Breda (Josh), Connor Bunnaman (Amelia Rutledge), Lucas Psenicka (Layla Turner), Rainey Psenicka (Nate Bolger) and Marshall Stevens. He was a proud and doting Bis Nonno to Ryder and Taxen Bolger and Bodhi, Bryar and Wyatt Dino van Breda. He will be missed by his son-in-law Robert Psenicka, brothers-in-law Garnet Dickie and Gerrie Marostega, sister-in-law Nora Marostega, his nieces, nephews, cousins and his aunt, Rena Smith. He was predeceased by his father Luigi (1978), his mother Esther (2000), sister Sylvia Dickie (2000), brother-in-law David Marostega (2022) and many aunts and uncles.
Dino could always be found at every sporting event that his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved in. Whether it was softball, hockey, lacrosse, basketball volleyball or soccer you always knew Nonno would be there proudly encouraging and cheering them on whether they were playing locally or in another country and time zone. His love and pride of his family was always evident in his actions and words.
Dino was active in coaching softball and his love of coaching and supporting local athletes was apparent beyond the years his children played. His love of sports and his dedication and commitment to fostering skills and sportsmanship in athletes will always be part of his legacy.
Dino was born in Glen Christie and attended SS #12 school with his best friend Bruno Frasson. They would continue to have their standing Thursday casino / horse racing day each week.
Dino started his accounting business over 50 years ago and continued working until two weeks before his passing. He was not just his clients’ “tax man”, they also considered Dino to be a good friend whose advice, words of wisdom and life lessons were greatly appreciated by many.
Special thanks to the Bayshore Palliative Care team, especially Dr. Brodovsky, Jessica and Melanie.
Thank you to the nurses, PSW’s, staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington for their tremendous care of Dino, as well as the care and compassion towards our family. A heartfelt thank you to Dino’s Earth Angels, Claire and Cassandra.
Visitation will take place at Gilbert McIntyre & Son Hart Chapel on Monday, April 21st from 1pm - 4pm and 6pm - 9pm. Funeral on Tuesday, April 22nd at 11am in the Hart Chapel. Celebration of life will follow the funeral at the Italian Canadian Club.
