It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Allan Law in Guelph at the age of 56.
Beloved son to Bernard and the late Rosemarie. Loving Father to Adyson and Aidan, dear brother of Theresa Corbett (Kenny), Gregory Law (MaryAnn), Stephen Law (Karen), Sandra Law (Patricia) & Mark Law (late Tammy). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews, friends and extended family.
Allan was a gentle giant with a heart as big as his swing. In his youth, he was a standout baseball player, capable of sending a ball out of the park with ease. But those who knew him best remember him for so much more than his athleticism. Allan was a true teddy bear, with a kind spirit and a goofy charm that made him loved by all.
A man of simple pleasures, Allan’s heart was as pure as his love for animals and his steadfast devotion to his sons. Though he could never quite master video games, he never missed a chance to cheer them on, always asking questions about their interests—whether it was sports cars or anything else that made them smile. Allan’s love for his family was clear in every little gesture, and he gave so much of himself, never realizing how much he was loved in return.
A man who hated vegetables (except for corn), Allan was easy to please and always stayed true to himself. He will be missed deeply by all who were lucky enough to know him. Rest in peace, Allan—you were truly one of a kind.
Friends will be received on Thursday, April 17 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N. Guelph. A funeral service will take place in the chapel at 11:00 am, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Lounge. A private interment will take place.
As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations made to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences can be made online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
