Alfred James

JAMES, Alfred - Born in Guelph on April 3, 1920, Alf passed away peacefully with family members at his side on Monday, November 28, 2011 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Mona (nee Gidden) James. Loving father to Scott (Jenny), Steve (Wendy), Linda Coombs (Albert), and Tracey (infant, 1972); grandfather to Ryan, Andrea, Christopher, Nicole, Jordan, and Rachel. Predeceased by his parents, sister and brother, Alf is fondly remembered as brother-in-law to Velma Stone, and as favourite uncle to many nieces and nephews. Alf proudly served during World War II in the 11th Field Regimen. Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
