Doris was born October 1, 1935, and raised in Perkinsfield, Ontario to the late Charles and Angele D’Aoust. As a young woman, Doris travelled from her small farm to Toronto where she met her husband, Don. They settled and lived in Guelph where they raised their five children. Cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, “Mémère” loved most being with her large family.
A dedicated homemaker, she filled her home with warmth, love, and the aroma of her legendary pie crusts—an art her family could never quite master. Always up for an adventure, always optimistic, Doris loved to travel and be out in the world.
A longtime member of Holy Rosary Parish in Guelph, Doris was a pillar of her church and community, serving as an active Eucharistic Minister, a proud member of the Catholic Women’s League, and a committed volunteer. Whether leading Girl Guides, delivering Meals on Wheels, or lending a helping hand at the Guelph Hospital gift shop, she was always on the go, driven by kindness and a deep sense of service. She also canvassed tirelessly for numerous charitable organizations, always putting others before herself.
Her generous spirit, selfless heart, and unwavering faith touched countless lives. Doris leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength that will be dearly missed but forever cherished.
Doris was pre-deceased by her husband (William) Donald. Doris is survived by her children Theresa (Jerry) Fabian, Denise (late David) Ward, David (Jackie) Turner, Linda (Greg Mausser) Turner, and Brenda (Danny) Papalazarou, twelve grandchildren and 14 adoring great-grandchildren. Doris is also survived by siblings Raymond (late Georgette) D’Aoust, Suzanne (late Kenneth) Proulx, and Edna (Paul) Maheu, and many nieces and nephews.
