Virginia L. Petry, 75, of Nederland, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013. She was born January 15, 1938, to Mary Alice Copeland and Thomas Franklin Moore in Port Arthur, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Virginia was an X-Ray technician and worked her way up to head of the X-Ray department at Park Place Hospital, where she was employed for many years before retiring.
She is survived by her son, Dwayne Juneau and his wife, Robin; daughter, Wendy Dwyer, all of Nederland; grandchildren, Dustin Juneau and his wife, Glenna, Matthew Juneau and his wife, Brittany, Jeremy Baggs, Christine Dwyer and Rocky Bui; ten great-grandchildren; lifelong friend, Nancy Granger; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She will also be missed dearly by her faithful pets.
Virginia is preceded in death by her one and only true love, Dr. James L. Petry; parents; and brothers, Marion, Jesse and Luther Moore.
A gathering of Mrs. Petry’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
