I met Patricia on the Board of HLAA many years ago.  She was smart, funny, genuine, and one of the most caring people I have ever met.  I loved to just hear her voice - it radiated her joy in life.  She was a gift to us all, both professionally and as a friend.  God bless all of her family and friends.

Patricia and I worked together many years ago at Mehaffy & Weber. She was always the light around us and the giver. A woman who gave eagerly to others. Family and friends was most important to her and ruled her world. I hadn't seen her in years, but remember how she made me and others feel.  God Bless Her.  Beverly Luther

Rios was an awesome, friend, mentor and sister.  Her life was an example of what we all strive to be.  She patiently and lovingly trained more paralegals than anyone I know and we all can say we learned from the very best.  Once I became a lawyer, every legal assistant and paralegal I encountered was measured against Rios' standards to see if they should be hired, fired, promoted or just plain ran out of the office.  

I loved discussing sports, the "scrub life," and especially family with Trish.  Trish, you will be forever cherished and missed by Theron and I.  Dana

Dear Patricia, 
My heart is breaking as I write this note.  I'm so glad we had a chance for a marathon phone catch-up a few months back.  It was so good to hear your joy about your beautiful and loving nieces and nephews, and it warmed my heart that we could share our recent losses.  I know you'll be happy to be reunited with your precious mother now. You simply missed her too much, I guess. I remember your surprise and delight when I suggested that even in illness you were a great gift to your family, because they were having the opportunity to do something for you in return, to show you how much they treasured your love. Can't believe you were sending me news of job openings just six weeks ago.  You were always thinking of others.  I love you, Patricia.  I miss you, but I know that you are completed now, one with the Father.  When I feel sorry for myself that I miss you, I will try to remember that you now walk with the saints in light.  I wish Deep Peace to all those you've blessed during your mortal life.

Sobering news about a woman I recall as being so full of life. I admired her both as a professional and a person. She will be missed.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

I will continue to lift Trish’s family and us her friends up in prayer for comfort and peace in the days to come as well as celebration of so many good times we all have had with her... her easy laugh, quick wit and practical nature that gave us all so much needed direction and focus.  She contributed much to the legal community and countless hours of time to the needs of others.  I will always miss not being able to look forward to Trish’s presence in our activities but believe that the human connections made in life continue to guide us in our journey here – so believe that her gifts and spirit live on within us and will continue to help us in the days ahead. Tricia had a spirit of love and compassion that could be spotted from across a crowded room.  She had an engaging smile and laugh that made you want to spend more time in her presence..  Two events that stand out in my memory was a work trip to Boston where she eagerly suggested that we take the train from Manchester to Boston for a Celtics game and then suggested that we somehow get to NY to find Derek Jeter.  The other memory is going to Miller Outdoor Theatre for a Motown Revue.   Her compassion for others was evident in her work with me with HISD's Leadership 2000 at Jackson Middle School.  She engaged the students and teachers with her infectious smile and laughter. The time spent with her was a joy and her presence will be greatly missed.

My thoughts and prayers goes out to the family. Trish was a dear friend to me and I love her dearly!  God has gained another angel.  R.I.P. friend.

Patricia's easy and bright smile is what I will remember most.  She was a joy to be with and her positive energy was infectious.

Tricia was a light in the dark and will shine on in many people's memories.  She was a tireless worker for paralegals and future paralegals in Houston and her legacy will live on.  My deepest sympathies.

I will remember Patricia as a bundle of energy when we worked together at Vinson & Elkins.  My heart goes out to her family at this time and they are all in my thoughts and prayers.
