

Geraldine "Jerry" Chatelain Manuel, 91, of Port Arthur, Texas went to be with her Lord Thursday, April 16, 2015, after a long illness. Jerry was born December 21, 1923 in Bunkie, Louisiana to the late Louis and Harriette Chatelain.
Jerry was a member of St. James Catholic Church; and was retired from Weiner's Department Store. Jerry volunteered her time at St. Mary's Hospital as a "Pink Lady" and at Tyrell School as a tutor. Jerry loved to swim, walk, dance, and most of all enjoyed people.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ora Manuel; brother, L C Chatelain; sisters, Cecila Hays and Cinna Mae McBride. She is survived by her sons, Bobby Manuel and wife Shirley of Orange, and Perry Manuel and wife Glynda of Bridge City; grandson, Christopher of Bridge City; granddaughters, Jessika Manuel of Nederland; Rachael Flores and husband Stephen of Bridge City; step-granddaughter, Jessica Hyde of Bridge City; great-grandchildren, Alex and Gauge Manuel, and step-great-grandchild, Bentley Hyde; brother Fred Chatelain and wife Barbara of Alexander, Virginia. Jerry is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she loved.
A gathering of Mrs. Manuel's family and friends will be held Monday, April 20, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 1:30 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
