Sandra Lee "Sandy" Custer

Sandy Custer, age 74, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Doctor’s West Hospital. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Jean Reynolds, her biological father, Raymond Muncie, her father who adopted her, James Pflager, and her step-father Gary Reynolds. Sandy was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Larry Custer. Sandy is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Greg) Davis, son, Donny (Carrie) Custer, granddaughters, Jessica Sanford, Kaitlyn Custer, Alyssa Custer, great grandchildren, Addison Workman, Kailon Davis, sister, Peggy Pflager, brother, Ed (Lynn) Reynolds.

She retired from Southwestern City Schools after 30 years of faithful service. She started her career at Pleasant View Middle School and went on to Norton Middle School and finished as the Head Cook at Finland Middle School. Sandy enjoyed going fishing, gardening, being on the boat at Seneca Lake and Lake Erie with her family, swimming, sewing, creating crafts, having lunch with her friends and coworkers and shopping with her mom, Ruby. Sandy was an avid collector of butterflies. Most of all Sandy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and the love of her life Larry are now reunited after nearly 20 years apart. They enjoyed being together and were never apart other than work.

A visitation time will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 2-5 pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY where her funeral service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Brandon Wilson, officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt Carmel Hospice.
