Richard Sidney Lantz

Richard S. Lantz, age 89 of Grove City passed away Monday, October 24, 2022. Richard was born in Marion, OH to the late Earl and Inez (née Hendickson) Lantz. He graduated from Marion Harding High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a combat air crewman during the Korean War. After his discharge, he attended The Ohio State University. Richard spent his career in the steel industry and owned Steel Enterprises, Inc. He was a member of American Legion Post #532 and owned and trained thoroughbred racehorses. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his son Mark; brother Harry Lantz; sister Pat Lantz, son-in-law Simon Roper. He is survived by his wife Paulette; children Lauren Roper and Craig Lantz; grandchildren Craig Lantz, Jr, Charley Lantz, and Joie Lantz; sister Sharon Asire; and cousin Virginia Mercado. A graveside service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Grove City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bella Care Hospice or the Veterans Administration. Richard’s family would like to thank the Veterans Administration, Monterey Care Center, Bella Care, Dr. Houser and his staff and all the special friends who helped care for Richard during his illness.
