On April 4, 2023, Norma Jean Busto Hall passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her husband of nearly 60 years, John “Jack” Hall. She had recently celebrated her 84th birthday with her adoring children Adam (Karla) Hall, Todd Hall, Kris (Libby) Hall, Joel (Shannon) Hall, and Leigh Anne (Bill) Detillion, her grandchildren Carter (Emily), Ellen (Noah), Evan, Zoe, Dean, Luke, Eli, Rhett, Tyler, Savannah, and Caleb, and her great-grandchildren Nola and Ranger. Norma was born in Glendale, West Virginia to parents Celia Josephine Rodriguez and Louis Vincent Busto. Her younger brother, Louis Busto, Jr. preceded her in death, but his wife Martha and sons Mike and Mark remained precious to her. Norma spent her early years enjoying the adventures of her close-knit extended family. She graduated from high school in Donora, Pennsylvania, and obtained her bachelor’s degree from West Liberty State College. The first in her family to graduate from college, Norma wrote for her college newspaper, served as president of her sorority, Alpha Tau Gamma, and graduated with honors. Jack won the lottery the day he went fishing with his friend Henry. The moment he saw Henry’s beautiful niece Norma, he knew his life would change. With Henry’s blessing, Jack called Norma for a date. From that day forward, Norma and Jack lived their lives together, eventually marrying and building the thoughtful, caring partnership their children would strive later to emulate. A brilliant woman, Norma was fluent in three languages and enjoyed teaching French and Spanish to hundreds of middle and high school students for many years. She delighted in playing tennis and hosting gatherings with her large group of friends, but above all, Norma was a devout Catholic and a devoted mother and grandmother. Possessing a true servant’s heart, she was active in her church, volunteered for TWIGS in support of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and was a kind and loving example to her large and loving family. Norma’s family will receive friends 10-11 AM Thursday, April 13 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 3730 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123 where her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Rev. Fr. Joseph Yokum, celebrant. Interment at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Norma’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association www.act.alz.org Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Grove City
