Mary Joann Fox

Mary Joann Fox, age 93, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26th surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Springfield, Ohio, on April 8th, 1931, to Paul and Helen Bechtel. She graduated from Springfield High School and later moved to Columbus with her husband and children. Mary was a woman of unwavering patience and boundless love, a trait she perfected while raising 6 boys and later shared with her grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy than visits from her great-grandbabies. Family and faith were always the most important things to Mary. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be greatly missed but forever cherished by those who were lucky enough to be loved by her.

Mary leaves behind her sons, Robert (Nancy) L. Losee, Ben (Diane) A. Fox, John (Sherry) P. Clark, and Paul “Joe” (Amy) Fox; her siblings, Betty Fain and Lawerence Bechtel; grandchildren, Rob (Todd) Losee, Amy (David) Leigh, Michael (Kathleen) Losee, and Jeff (Shannon) Losee, Len Losee, Charles Losee, Joey Losee, Jackie Losee, Melissa Fox, Ben (Maloni) Fox, Crystal (John) Brayshaw, Michelle Clark, Shauna (Brandon) Eitel, Amber (Dustin) Conley, Joshua Clark, Tiffany Clark, Laura Fox, and Lena (Matthew Bell) Fox. As well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence L. Fox; her parents, Paul J. Bechtel and Helen M. Bechtel (Carlos); Sons, Leonard C. Losee, Charles Losee, and Dan E. Fox; her siblings: Rita Hursh, Helen Peters, Paul Bechtel, William “Bill” Bechtel, and Joe Bechtel.

Mary’s family will receive friends on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Schoedinger Norris Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd, Grove City, Ohio 43123. A funeral service will be held at Schoedinger Norris Grove City on Friday, April 4th, 2025, starting at 10:00am. Mary will be laid to rest at Calvary Springfield Catholic Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to Boys Town in Mary’s memory.
