Juania Ord, age 84, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Mill Run Care Center. She is preceded in death by her parents: Philip and Mildred (Oldaker) Calafatis, her husband of 56 years: Norval P. Ord, sister: Stacea Deoudes, brothers: Johnie Calafatis, Gus Calafatis, nephew: Michael Calafatis, and her fur babies: Cuddles, Lacey, and Bella. She is survived by her sisters: Mary (Angelo) Galatis, Margaret Kash, daughter: Jimelle (Ed) Mader, granddaughter: Kayleigh Mader, grandson: Jacob (Kori) Mader. In addition to immediate family, Juania was also very close to these family members: Godson/nephew: Christian (Samantha) Calafatis, nieces: Kimberly (Mike) Calafatis, and Mikayla Workman, great-nephew, Cody (Madison) Calafatis, great-niece, Zoey (Marc) Calafatis. Juania was known for her big heart and being the “rock” of her family. She took great pride in taking care of her home and family: whether through caregiving, decorating a cake, planning a get together, or listening and giving advice. She was an excellent cook & baker and enjoyed preparing goodies for her loved ones. She was known for her spaghetti and meatballs, coney sauce, harvae, greek meat loaf, nut roll, chocolate chip cookies and texas sheet cake. She happily shared her kitchen skills by working with family in the kitchen. In her spare time, Juania enjoyed using her creative skills making wreaths & flower arrangements, scrap-booking family photos, and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was also a prolific reader! Her green thumb came from helping her dad, who grew excellent vegetable crops. She generously shared all her skills with family and friends. Juania had sewing skills and a knack for interior design; she used both to help many family members redo rooms in their homes. She also used all of her decorating skills to transform her home for each holiday! She enjoyed watching the birds, especially cardinals and hummingbirds, that she fed in her garden. Juania was a lifelong member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus. A visitation time will be held on Saturday, July 8, from 9-10 am, at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY 4242 Hoover Rd where her funeral service will begin at 10 am, with Marti Hurd officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
