John W. Frank

John W. Frank, age 77, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the Laurels of West Columbus. He was born September 19, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Gerald and Florence (Webber) Frank. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Fred Frank, daughter-in-law, Shawna (Djenge) Frank. John is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 55 years, Phyllis (Moore) Frank, children, Amy (Mark) Burks, John “Benjamin” Frank, Molly (Tom) Niday, grandchildren, Bradley Burks, Kyle Burks, Emma Frank, Jonathan Frank, William Frank, Eli Frank, Matthias Niday, Lena Niday, Kira Niday, brother, Roger (Terri) Frank, many nieces, nephews, and many friends he made over the years from SERS, Grove City Church of the Nazarene, Grove City YMCA, and West High Alumni. He was a 1963 graduate of West High School, received his B.S. in Business from Franklin University in 1973, and his MBA in 1984 from the University of Dayton. John went on to work for the School Employees Retirement System (SERS) for 27 years until he retired in 2007. He received accreditation as a CEBS from the Wharton School of Business and was a member of the Ohio GFOA and served as a reviewer with the National Organization. In his spare time John enjoyed old cars and music, he played baritone saxophone in the Little Big Band of Columbus and built his 1948 Ford and loved taking care of it. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 9-11 am at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY 4242 Hoover Rd where John’s memorial service will be held at 11 am. Son-in-Law Pastor Mark Burks and Pastor Ed Linville will officiate. The family would also like to thank Pastor Owen Stotts for his faithful visits.
