Jay S Smalley

Jay Samuel Smalley of Grove City, Ohio passed away peacefully November 4, 2022 at his home with his devoted wife of 42 years at his side. He was born in West Liberty, Kentucky and grew up in Ross County, Ohio. Jay was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a people person and never met a stranger whether they were an adult or child. He always had a smile on his face and loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting , and boating and was an avid sports fan, especially the Buckeyes and Browns. Jay is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Rachel (Osborn) Smalley; daughter Reva Smalley; and brothers Clarence Adkins and Elwood Brong; Jay is survived by his wife Donna Simonson; son Ron (Rhonda) Gozy; daughter Betra Johnson; sister Edna Davis; brother John (Marla) Koppenol; and many nieces and nephews. Jay’s family will receive friends 12-1 PM Saturday, November 19 at Schoedinger Grove City 4242 Hoover Rd (HOOVER RD at KINGSTON AVE) where his memorial service will follow at 1 PM. Memorial Contributions may be made in Jay’s name to the American Cancer Society or Promedica Hospice.
