Hilda Darlene (Ball) Reid,72, of Grove City, Ohio passed peacefully after a long battle on April 8,2023. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 14, 1951 to Elihu and Maggie Ball, and graduated from South High School in Columbus. She spent several years in Palmetto, Florida where she enjoyed the fresh citrus trees in her back yard and the sandy beaches then moved to Northern Michigan where she enjoyed watching the snow fall from the cedar room of her house before moving back home to Columbus in 1995. Hilda is preceded in death by her parents Elihu and Maggie Ball, sister, Ruby Patterson, Brothers, Marvin, Jack, and Jessie Sutherland, Mike Ball, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Survived by her husband Tom Reid Sr., Sons, Will (Candi) Braun, Erik (Marie) Braun, Step-daughter, Penny Miller, Step-son, Tom Reid Jr., Grand Kids, Keisha and Nicholas Braun, Thadeus and Paige Miller, Brother, Larry (Lynn) Daugherty and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and several “Sons” and “Daughters” that called her Mama. Hilda was an avid drag race car driver and motor cycle rider from an early age. She had a love for baking and decorating cakes, cooking, gardening, crafting, and reading her bible. She especially enjoyed her grandkids and spending time with them. Hilda was Baptized at Palmetto Assembly of God where she was also a Sunday school teacher. She worked at Western Electric in Columbus Ohio, Palmetto Elementary School, UPS, Kroger and Mid-West Industries. She was an avid collector of Hull brown dishes. She was kindhearted and loved by all that knew her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered!
