Glenn G. Morrison passed away at home on February 14, 2024. Glenn was the only child, born on March 6, 1934, in Cleveland, OH to James and Louise (Gardner) Morrison. On June 27, 1959, he married Robin White. He graduated from Avon Lake High School, served in the US Navy, became a Boy Scout Executive for the Boy Scouts of America, serving in Ohio, Iowa, and Illinois. When the kids left the home, he and Robin returned to their beloved Ohio, where he worked for Wasserman Uniforms and Ace Hardware in the Columbus area.
He was a proud member of the Scottish American Military Society and loved his Scottish heritage. One of his favorite activities was playing Santa during the Christmas season at the Grandview Heights Library. It brought him a tremendous amount of joy. He was a lifelong learner and fascinated with Civil War history. He loved spending time with his family and their two cats, Spook and Anne.
He was preceded by his son, Will Morrison; and niece Jennifer Nalitz; beloved mother-in-law, Willa Owens; and his parents, James and Louise.
Glenn is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Robin Morrison; children Linda (Jeff) Kreider and Matt (Kate) Morrison; daughters-in-law, Milana Morrison and Chris Morrison; grandchildren, Angus Morrison, Nicole Kreider, Nathan Kreider, Abby (Eduardo) Biffi, Josh Gutknecht, Jessica (Morgan) Davenport, Garrett (Brooke) Gutknecht, Willa Morrison, Jordan Snyder; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Carolyn White and Linda (Bill) Nalitz; and cousin, Marge Emblom. Special friends, Jerry Swan and David Manzanarez.
We’d like to give special thanks to Rebecca Brandt and Michael McCafferey for their friendship and the many hours they spent taking care of Glenn. Also, special thanks to our caregivers, the National Church Residences Hospice, and especially Kelly (CNA).
There will be a celebration of life in the summer of 2024.
