Dorothy’s family always meant the most to her, beginning with her beloved Dad and Mom, her sisters Joann and Jackie in German Village and St. Mary’s High School.
She said love carried her through her 98 years. She was a devoted wife of 62 years to her husband Jack. They shared a lifelong love affair. She was the proud mother of Susan (Dennis) Donovan, Mike (Cindy), Steve (Peggy), and Mark (Carla). They raised their family on the west side of Columbus, moving to Grove City in 1971.
Dorothy never felt the need to get a driver’s license and still managed to attend countless recitals, ball games, performances and birthday parties for her 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren! Always with words of encouragement and praise, she was everyone’s cheerleader.
Dorothy and Jack were active members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish since 1971. They were so proud to serve on the committee for the construction of the beautiful new church.
They worked together in the family business for 35 years.
They loved to travel and escape the winter months in Florida, especially Disney World with a group of grandkids. Even more they loved to spend time at “The Farm” in Morgan County, where their memories spanned more than 60 years. Dorothy enjoyed hiking, gazing at the night sky, working in her flower garden, and reading while she was there. They had such a good time!
Her family was proud of her courage and strength as she lived independently after Jack died in 2009.
She is also survived by dear nieces and nephews, and her special cousin Carol Trapp.
