Dean Lykins

Dean Lykins, age 87, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at his home. He was born August 8, 1936 in Scioto County to the late Herbert and Ada (Day) Lykins. He was a Union Brick Mason, Home Builder and a proud Christian. He is preceded in death by his brother, Charles A. Lykins, sister, Diana Robertson. Dean is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jewell (Irwin) Lykins, daughters, Beverly Ann, Deidra Jo, granddaughter, Lacey Marie Thompson, great grandson, Malakai Thompson, sister, Virginia F. Porter of Pataskala, brothers, Lowell R. Lykins of Canal Winchester, Gary R. Lykins of Valdez, North Carolina, Donald L. Lykins of Lucasville, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. After retiring Dean enjoyed being part of “The Village Pickers.” He was the “Tub Man” and played on the front porch of the Kegg Cabin at Century Village, weather permitting and at the Galloway Tavern. Dean was also instrumental in establishing the bell at Century Village. A special thank you to Mt. Carmel Home Care Team. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 11-1 pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY where the funeral service will be held at 1 pm with Pastor Ruth Pribe and Pastor Kathleen Kinser officiating. Interment will take place at Concord Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society (Kegg Cabin).
