Wayne R. Hissong

Wayne Robert Hissong, age 64 of Clinton Township, passed away October 15, 2015. He was born in Detroit on September 4, 1951; the son of James and Ethel (nee Miller) Hissong. Wayne was a Printer at the Port Huron Times Herald for 27 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, landscaping and being outdoors. A caring man, he had a great affinity for animals. His great passions were model trains and as of very recently, his grandson, Abel. Fall was Wayne's favorite time of year. He loved Halloween and found great joy in scaring others. Wayne will be remembered as a wonderful father who imparted kindness, sincerity and depth unto his children. He is deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Loving father of Justin and Dana. Proud grandfather of Abel Bryce. Caring brother of Kenneth and Darryl. Dear uncle of Brandon, Greg and Paul. Good friend of Nancy Gorey and many others. Wayne's family will receive friends on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren A service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit. Wayne had great respect and gratitude for those who honorably served our country. Memorial contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.
