See photo showing Robin & me standing with The New Christy Minstrels (see on far right Kenny Rogers playing bass). Robin (left in photo) also played bass, piano, & guitar.  We were guest artists on “The Today Show”, and appeared and performed on National Network Television numerous times. Robin often played bass with Doug Dover (on guitar right in photo). Robin’s brother Randy Wright often appeared in the group, and he named the trio “The Wright Clefs and Dover”.   During the Viet Nam War years, Robin was chosen for entertaining for the USO at military bases under the direction of the late Sally Reynold, all three either performed in children’s theatre, community theatre, and in performances at the Grosse Pointe S high school, plus at the Michigan’s War Memorial Theatre, William Fries Auditorium each year for the Grosse Pointe annual hootenannies, and other engagements.   Robin was dependable, dedicated, and hard working at whatever he did. Robin was a serious talented musician, and during his spare time while in Jr high school, because we both played piano, it was easy for Robin to teach me how to play guitar. Plus, Robin’s very talented older brother Randy sang three part harmonies with us.  Fondest memories include the winters in which we dragged around all of our instruments to sing door to door three part Christmas carols while playing string bass and guitars.  For many years Robin worked steadily, dependably, and tirelessly at Grosse Pointe’s community club, and they were so appreciative and supportive of Robin helping them, in time both became mutually dependent on each other, and it remained that way for decades, proving Robin ‘s valuable service to the whole community. Robin will be deeply missed.
