Robert G. Rocheleau, "Rocky", age 63, died peacefully at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit after a short illness. Bob was born on October 30, 1949 at Grace Hospital in Detroit; the son of Bernard and Mary Rocheleau. Rocky grew up on Detroit's eastside and graduated from Austin Preparatory High School in 1968. He also studied at Macomb County Community College in Warren. Bob was employed as a security officer at Cottage Hospital in Grosse Pointe Farms and at William Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe. He enjoyed jazz music, was a bass guitarist and an enthusiastic sports fan. He also enjoyed cooking and was the Chief Cook at home. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Gail; their two children, Danielle and Michael; his sisters, Janet Cameron (Bob) and Jean Marsh (Ron) and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Bernie and Mary. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. On Tuesday, his body will lie instate at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street in Mount Clemens from 11:00 a.m. until mass begins at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Fr. Michael Cooney will be the celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family would be appreciated.
