Richard James Goldsberry

Richard James Goldsberry, 54, died November 11, 2016. Richard was born September 24, 1962 in Alpena, Michigan, and spent most of his life in Alpena and Grosse Pointe, Michigan. He had recently moved to Destin, Florida. He was proud of earning his Master Electrician's license at a very young age, having completed his journeyman's training at his father, Robert Goldsberry's electrical contracting company. Throughout his career, he worked in many states and in the Bahamas. He enjoyed motorcycling, boating and music. Whether fishing, skiing, or sailing, Richard took every opportunity to be on the water. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends. Richard was loved very much and will be greatly missed. Richard is survived by his siblings, Martin R. (Julie L.) Goldsberry, Elizabeth A. (Michael McLaughlin) Goldsberry, John R. Goldsberry, Kathy A. Goldsberry and a niece, Annalise M. Goldsberry (Martin and Julie). He is also survived by his stepmother, Karen J. Goldsberry, several loving cousins and his Aunt Sharon Ramsey. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Goldsberry, in 2015 and his mother, Mary Ann Goldsberry, in 2012. Memorial Service 12:00 pm Saturday December 10, 2016 at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. Family and friends will gather beginning at 11:00 am.
