Nathan Halley III was born October 27, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan, the eldest son of Nathan Jr. and Jean Halley. He entered rest January 18, 2019 at the age of 67. He grew up on the Eastside of Detroit though he could be found throughout the 4 corners of the city, from Grandpas house, to aunties, then on to roller-skating at Rollercade, Arcadia and St. Martins Rec. Center. Nathan attended Mumford High School where he participated in ROTC and achieved the rank of Colonel. He graduated high school in January 1970. He was a reserved man with unmistakable charisma. Nathan was always calm, cool, and collected. He never failed to stand out in a crowd. He had a great impact on many peoples lives. Nathan had an optimistic view on life and a kind hand towards all in need. Music was a passion of his and he loved to find new music of every genre to listen to and share. Nathan enjoyed spending time at the gun range with his sons, brothers, uncles, and bowling in various leagues. Another way Nathan enjoyed spending his leisure time, was by watching home improvement shows that inspired him to make a trip to Home Depot or Lowes to begin his own DIY projects. He also enjoyed watching cooking shows, the History Channel and especially the show, "How its made." He found joy traveling and exploring new places around the world with his wonderful wife, Karen. Nathans family was most important in his life. He was a supportive and caring husband and father. His children, grandchildren, parents, brothers, aunts and uncles were the light of his life, and he adored spending every minute he could with them. Nathan is the beloved husband of Karen for 29 years and the dear father of Mia (Tony) Burbank, Runako (Eeka) Marshall, Nathan (Toni) Halley IV, and RaSheedah (Darnell) DeBoes. He is the treasured grandfather of Kyra Ambrose, Jalin Neally, Nadia Burbank, Brandon Burbank, Solomon Marshall, Kyla DeBoes, Judah Marshall, Mario DeBoes, London DeBoes, Nailah Marshall, Nia Marshall, and Nathan DeBoes. He will also be missed by his siblings Elijah (Cathi) Halley, Anthony (Maggie) Halley, Mario (Kim) Halley, Donald Thomas, Ronald (Greta) Thomas, and Victoria Cardwell. Visitation for Nathan will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic, Warren. He will lie in state Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 9:00 am until the time of service 9:30 am at Word of Faith, Church, 20000 West Nine Mile Road, Southfield.
