Nabil T. Tawile M.D., 66, of Grosse Pointe Park, died Friday afternoon, May 22, 2009 at home with his beloved family. Born in Jbeil, Lebanon to Toufic and Bibiana Tawile, he was a graduate of St. Joseph Jesuit Medical School in Beirut and practiced medicine for 41 years at Henry Ford, Saratoga, Bon Secours, and Cottage Hospitals in the field of Gastroenterology. He was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Lily, and his children, Viviane Fakhoury and Jean-Michel Tawile. He also is survived by his sisters, Rachel Sfeir, Therese Tawile, and Mireille Frem and by his brother, Khalil Tawile. He was an avid reader of geographical, archeological and political history, as well as a philanthropist giving to many charities throughout his life. He will be deeply missed. Visitation Sunday and Monday 2-8pm with an incense prayer service Monday 6pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave at Vernier, Grosse Pointe Woods. Instate Tuesday 10am until time of Mass 11am at St. Maron Maronite Catholic Church 11466 Kercheval at St. Jean, Detroit 48207. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church.
