

Marlene Marie Stahl-Brophy died May 18, 2020, in Detroit, MI, surrounded by her two children, George Charles, age 21, and Jacqueline Marie, age 19. Marlene was born to George Charles Stahl, Sr. and Marjorie Mae Stahl (Szeszko) on June 20, 1963 in Detroit, MI.
Marlene graduated valedictorian from Grosse Pointe North in 1981, graduated with a Bachelor of Business with high disctinction from the University of Michigan in 1985 and graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 1988 with a Jurist Doctorate. Marlene also became a CPA and had a real estate license. These past few years her career was dedicated to estate planning.
Some of Marlene's greatest memories were the times she spent fishing in Marathon, FL with family and friends. Marlene also enjoyed skiing, gardening, traveling, exercise and being a member of the VFW Bruce Post #1146 where she served on their ritual team honoring the deaths of our military. She also became involved in fund raising by running marathons for the American Lung Association after the death of her father in 2004.
Marlene's true joy in life was spending time with her children. During their primary years, Marlene loved volunteering as room parent in school, coached the kid's teams when they played youth soccer, never missed a swim competition, Jackie's piano recitals or gymnastic competitions and George's football games. She truly loved her children.
Marlene was predeceased by her father, George, and is survived by her two children, George and Jacqueline Brophy, her mother, Marjorie, siblings Robert (Carole), Barbara, Philip (Valerie), George, John, Marjorie Uysal (Serdar) along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are requested to be given to the American Lung Association (www.lung.org).
