Kenneth Robert Kain, was better known as Bob to family and his friends, was born on August 7, 1940 at Cottage Hospital in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. He is the son of the late William Jacob and Madeline (nee LaMay) Kain. Bob died on Saturday, February 17, 2018 with family by his side. Bob worked for Gentz Industries for 42 years until his retirement. Bob was a gentleman that was extremely lucky and put himself in the right place at the right time. One day he found a quarter on the floor of the casino, picked it up and dropped it into the slot machine. With one pull of the lever, he won $250. On one of Bob's and Evelyn's cruises, Bob wanted to meet the guy driving the boat. Before long, Bob was talking to the captain of the ship and took him to meet his beautiful wife Evelyn. Bob was a machinist and after retirement became Mr. Fix It. He had an extraordinary amount of patience. He could perform meticulous tasks that included clock repair and also sewing and embroidery. He and his son Rob built a beautiful yellow 1979, Jeep from the ground up 32 years ago, and it was his pride and joy. Bob also had a 2000 Ford Super-Duty pickup truck named Sadie. The truck Sadie and all his tools were in the garage while Evelyn's car stayed outside. Bob loved to cook. The aroma from his BBQ cooking would fill the house while his special Cordon Blue chicken would leave you speechless. He would bake each of one of his grandchildren their own special loaf of homemade bread. On the hunting trips, Bob was the chief cook and bottle washer. Bob was a jokester and had a great sense of humor. He will be remembered for his kindness, his ability to do anything for anyone, and for his many cliches he was known to say. If you have a cliche or a funny story associated with it, leave the story on our online guestbook for the family to read later. Beloved husband of Evelyn of 56 years. Loving father of Martin (Connie) Kain, Scott (Brenda) Kain, Kelly Kohler, and Robert (Julie) Kain. Cherished grandfather of Katelyn, Tyler, Kacie, Korey, Kristy, Collin, Kenna, Alexis, Karley, Kyle, and Mitchell. Bob is also survived by 7 sisters and 2 brothers and predeceased by 4 brothers. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic, Warren. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 12 noon at the funeral home.
