She was the beloved wife of the late Dwayne and is survived by brother James (JoAnne) Rollins, daughter Traci (Derek) Mrowczynski and son Jeffrey (Molly) Tompkins as well as grandchildren Aubrianna (Ashley), Madeline, Emma, Tyler (Sydney) and Trevor along with great grandchildren, Paisleigh and Blakeleigh.
Born on May 16, 1944, to John and Mildred Rollins in Wadsworth OH, Judi began working at TRW in Cleveland where she first met Dwayne. A blind date led to their marriage in 1964 and they lived in Parma, Ohio until Dwayne was transferred to the Sterling Heights, Michigan office in 1968. While Judi was raising her family in Michigan, she was very active in helping with any school or other activities of Traci and Jeff. She and Dwayne were also active members at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in St. Clair Shores, where they resided. They had a full life in Michigan and loved being near Lake St. Clair, often enjoying summer days at Metro Beach. In 1987, they returned to Strongsville OH and resided there until 2015.
Both Dwayne and Judi became very active in Strongsville United Methodist Church. Judi also began to volunteer with Strongsville Historical Society, the Fourth Angel program through Cleveland Clinic and later with Southwest Hospice. She was very sociable and loved spending time with her friends, many from her Berea High School days. She loved cooking, baking, shopping and also shared a love of gardening with Dwayne.
Judi returned to Michigan in 2015 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She resided at American House – Cottage in Grosse Pointe Farms beginning in Independent Living and then moving into Memory Care in 2018.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17th from 1:00 pm until the time of her funeral service at 4:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Woods. Judi will be laid to rest next to her beloved Dwayne in Strongsville Cemetery, in Strongsville, Ohio on Monday at 12:30 pm.
