Judith (Judy) A. Cox, a retiree of Triple AAA after 30 years. A resident of Clinton Township for many years and then happily situated in the Grosse Pointe Woods home built by her parents with her sister Linda for the last 24 years. Her cancer battle ended unexpectedly on January 17, 2024 at the age of 82 surrounded by her close family.
Judy is survived by her sister Linda Dugger, niece Deborah Bullock with husband Nicholas Bullock, great-niece Lindsay Caiozzo and husband Joseph Caiozzo JR with great-great nieces Isabella and Elliana Caiozzo, great-nephews Jason and John Martin with great-great nephew William Martin.
Judy was born in Detroit on August 1, 1941 to Doris and Vernon Cox. She graduated from Denby High School in 1959 and attended three years at Michigan State University studying music. She then attended court reporting school and worked as a court reporter until finding her lasting career at Triple AAA holding many different titles before retiring.
Judy was a caring aunt with a huge heart. She enjoyed baking her family famous cheesecake and spinach dip recipes, needlepoint, visiting the family cottage in Grayling, musical theatre, and spending time with her closest friends. She loved her cat Neffy, and dogs Harmony and Melody. She was well known for her poetry and even awarded an outstanding achievement in poetry on March 7, 2004 by The International Society of Poets. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and every heart she has touched.
A visitation for Judith will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM. Pastor Dale Bullock will officiate.
