Joanna Therese Socha, age 80 of St. Clair Shores, passed away November 13, 2016. She was born in Detroit on November 18, 1935; the daughter of Russell and Marian Hempel. Joanna worked as a devoted Secretary for 25 years at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School. She was an avid Red Wings and Tigers fan. She enjoyed bowling and trips to Mackinaw. Most of all, Joanna adored and provided for her family. Beloved wife of the late Richard for 52 years. Loving mother of Tim, Chris (Lynn), Susan (Brad), Kathy and Bob (fianc, Robin). Treasured grandmother of 8. Dear sister of Leonard Hempel. Joanna's family will receive friends on Friday, November 18th from 2:00pm until time of service 7:00pm at A.H.
