I love you “aunt” Joanie. You will be missed dearly and remembered with joy. Your birthday card was the one I could count on no matter what area code my life had taken me to. Your kindness and inclusiveness you exercised with conviction and forte. I will spend the rest of my life remembering when to be strong like you. Thank you for being part of my life.

Christmas dinners , donuts  in the graveyard, parties, and making the sign of the cross, anytime us kids acted up, are some  of many memories I hold close to my heart.  Heaven gained an Angel on Tuesday. We will miss you Aunt Joan.

Joan /Mom Van was a very special person to me. I have known her for 34 years as a friend, mother and grandmother to my children. She was such a loving,  caring,  thoughtful  woman. She always made everyone feel special with  her birthday,  anniversary,  and xmas cards. It was heartbreaking to watch the illness  take the energetic, always on the go, person she was. I am grateful to have known her and to be part of her family. I love her and will miss her dearly.

The lost of your mother, grandmother is difficult as she held a special place in your family.  

What helped me as I coped with the loss of my mother 4 years ago was the support of family and friends during that time.  Another help was remembering a point from Ecclesiastes 3:4 which states there is “a time to weep and a time to laugh” Right now you are going through a sad time but in the future you will smile and laugh about the happy and fun times spent with your mother.

My prayer is for your family to receives support, comfort and love at this time.
