Good God in Heaven, I miss you JW!
Been thinking about you a lot lately, and here it is your birfday!
I played your music last night...I learned Marysville, although I wish I had you here to show me the RIGHT way to play it.
I love you pal.  You live forever in your music and our hearts.

I just ran across this sad news. Jarrod, I haven't seen you since we were kids, we were at each other's houses a few times and we went to school with Dan Kangas, Scott Springer, Frank Savalle, Keith Lang, Jeff Rygwelski, Erik Thelander....these are the names that come to mind from those days. Sean Varney had already moved by then, but I met him later on a few times. You were always a really kind person. Very funny. We laughed a lot. Even school was hilarious. I remember listening to you play guitar at your house, we were just 13, 14 maybe. When you were playing, I was in awe.... It was apparent you were gifted and I was sad when we moved and I had to leave all of you guys behind. I heard about your successes in my 20s and I even hung around Mike Apostalu a little, but you and I never crossed paths again. We will one day. You are good soul, and I remember such a brotherly feeling when we hung out. God bless you, and your kids/family. I'm glad to have known you.

Miss you everyday my friend. I think back to when we were kids often sitting beside the season four houses mapping out our future and talking about the bands we would start and all the experiences that lay ahead of us. I am proud to have lived those dreams with you from the first songs and set list we comprised, the first bands we started, the girls who have come and gone threw our lives to the families we have started. I am proud to have the chance to know you and call you my best of friends. Your legacy lives on in the amazing music you left behind and the beautiful children that proudly bare your name. I see your likeness and glow in them. Say hello to my brother and Dan and the rest of our friends who have fallen, I'll see you soon enough and the jams will continue to play!!!

After thinking about it, I met Jarrod in the Edison Corridor between our respective subdvisions, I was in the 2nd grade. We traded Odyssey Video Games.
We were not close friends. Sometimes there are people that pass through your life for a reason and have an impact on how you move through the world. Jarrod was one of those folks. Dude was smart, academically and otherwise. It sounds crazy, but following these guys around split my head open and the world fell into my lap.
Musically speaking, he delivered the goods for sure and without a lick of pretense, EVERYONE felt welcome. I was always disappointed that Grayling never toured - especially after I left Michigan. All of my Grayling catalog save the 7" were electronic and were on an ipod that was taken from my car - I didn't care about the ipod or the break in, I cared about those songs.
I was back in Michigan the year before my daughter was born and I went with Heggie to see Jarrod play solo at Smalls - so glad I went to that show.

Jarrod, you were the most unique person I've ever known. Although we feel out of friendship & didn't talk I was always listening. Your music touched my soul forever. I was always very much in awe & very proud to have worked with you. I was a huge Grayling fan long after Daddy Stitch & all of your music will always be in my soul. Even though our band had a kind of sour ending I was always secretly proud of you when you stepped up front to sing your masterpieces yourself. It was a natural progression. I will always remember you as a warm hearted, funny, unique and special kid that made music like an angel. Now you are one...
Rest in peace Jarrod. I'll never ever forget you...

His music inspired me and I will continue to enjoy it. I did not know him but I am grateful to have been introduced to his music.

Though I had not seen Jerry in years, I had run into him twice this past year at the same drugstore. We both recognized each from highschool and spoke for a few minutes each time. What a sweet and talented guy, you will be missed greatly by everyone that you touched in your lifetime.
