"Let us endeavor so to live that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry." --Mark Twain Gerda Wimmer-Doetzkies, born on March 3, 1950 in Wiesloch, Germany and passed away on June 27, 2013 in Warren, MI. Gerda enjoyed gardening, shopping, and watching classic movies. She loved to spend time with the family cruising up and down the shores of Lake Huron and camping throughout the United States. Sometimes camping was rough and a luxurious 5 star hotel would just have to do. Beloved wife of Bernd Doetzkies. Loving mother of Rachel, Kristen, and Stefanie. Dear sister of Wilma Wimmer (Bill MacLeod), Elisabeth Hartmann (Werner), Richard Wimmer (the late Linda), and the late Karl Wimmer. Daughter of the late Karl and Ida Wimmer. Also survived by many loving family members and dear friends, especially Abby and Julia. Funeral will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd. at Masonic, Warren. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Monday, July 1, 2013 from 2:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Lighthouse Outreach Center, 28571 Gratiot Avenue, Roseville, MI 48066 would be appreciated.
