Gary Patrick Radigan, 71, died at home in peace in the loving care of his beloved wife Lynda Bartek. For five years they fought the cancer that claimed him, living life to the fullest every day, finding joy in each other, their families, and in lifes pleasures. Gary was kind, generous, and capable of both tender and tough love as his children and Lynda's children will attest. He never met a person he couldnt talk with or whom he didnt want to get to know better. He made every child feel special and he always nurtured their curiosity. Long an avid fisherman and golfer, after retiring from Eclipse Tool & Mold, Gary became the shuffleboard and bocce ball champion at their Vero Beach condominium community. He took up painting, joining Lynda in classes at the Vero Beach Art Museum where they both produced beautiful works of art that their families will cherish forever. Gary was a problem-solver whether at work or at home and loved games of logic like poker, Sudoku, and Trains. He was highly competitive, but always gave a struggling opponent, especially his sisters-in-law, a break. Garys top priority was to be the best husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, in-law, and friend he could be. His devotion was returned, and over his final days he reveled in the love that was expressed to him through visits, letters, phone calls, and art work. In addition to his beloved wife Lynda, Gary is survived by his adored children Sean, Shane (Valerie), Mark (Jolenna), Michelle (Chris Reeb) and their mother Janette Wiltse; Lynda's children John Bartek (Lindsay), David Bartek, Amy Kaul (Kevin), former daughters-in-law Gina Bartek and Tina Radigan; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandson; and by his dear sisters Linda, Colleen, and Beverly and their families; by Lyndas family; and by his dear cousin, George Palmer of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Brother-in-law of Kathleen (Christine Beregi) Miller, Steve Miller, and Chris Miller (Rich Weinberg). Gary was preceded in death by his beloved parents Anthony and Gladys Radigan. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jessica Schering and Dr. Bruno Bastos for their loving care throughout his illness and to his hospice team, especially Jaylynn, Felicia, Linda, Devin and Chaplain Bill. Funeral arrangements entrusted to A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, October 3rd from 1:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, October 4th at 12:00 noon, Christine Beregi officiating.
