David Michael Touchtone

David Michael Touchtone, 53, passed peacefully and surrounded by family at Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe. Dave was born May 3rd, 1968 in Detroit, Michigan to Arthur and Susanne Touchtone. David grew up in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan and graduated from Grosse Pointe North H.S. in 1988.

He worked as a Carpenter and Long-Haul Truck Driver before settling into a career in Facility and Mechanical Engineering. An avid boater, scuba diver, cyclist, “gearhead”, photographer and outdoorsman, Dave had a passion for adventure and new experiences, good food, restoration projects and was connoisseur of fine bourbon and whiskey.

He was known as a dedicated and focused man, meticulous in his approach, who never shied away from an opportunity to help others. Through his congeniality, his charity, his enormous heart and his perpetual sense of humor, Dave touched the lives of untold thousands and will be cherished and dearly missed by his family, friends and colleagues.

Dave is survived by the love of his life, Melissa (Clark), his parents Arthur and Susanne Touchtone, his brother Robert (Jane) Touchtone, his sister Paula (Jim) Hartson and his many nieces and nephews.

Dave’s family will have visitation from 3:00pm – 9:00pm on Friday, October 1, 2021 at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. All who are able to attend are welcome, and the family also encourages friends and colleagues to share their stories, photographs, thoughts, and prayers through www.dignitymemorial.com, a link to which can also be found on the AH Peters website.

A memorial service will occur at 10:00am on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at A. H. Peters Funeral Home chapel.

As Dave left us so suddenly and unexpectedly, his family and friends will be completing some of his unfinished projects, with the intent of hosting a Celebration of Dave’s life next May. Details will be shared at a later date.
