I'll never forget my first conversation with Daniele, and how comfortable it was to talk to her. She had that gift of making everyone feel like they were important and heard, no matter how light or heavy the conversation. She was a wonderful person who will be missed. I'm sorry for everyone who lost her, it was too soon.

My sincere condolences to your whole family. I worked with Daniele at the Detroit RO and she trained me over 14 years ago and we remained friends. She taught me to do the job but always kept it real and taught me a lot about how to grow up in a professional work setting too. She was always honest, helpful, and genuine. I respect her immensely and I feel so deeply for those left in your family without her. I pray that you feel comfort and know that she is blissfully reunited with her son now in God’s eternal glory and beauty. I am so thankful I knew Daniele.

Daniele was a friend, confidant, and mentor.  We bonded over similar life experiences, and her support and advice were always invaluable to me, especially when I became a mother.  The love Daniele had for her kids was immeasurable.  She was an incredible mother.  We talked about Sophie pretty much every day at work, and Daniele was always so excited to share pictures of her and we would laugh about all the cute things she did and clever things she said.  Sophie is a wonderful, smart, thoughtful, and kind human being and their relationship is the purest example of the bond between a mother and child.  I aspire to be that kind of mother.  Over the summer, we met at the park.  My son, who was 2 at the time, immediately felt Sophie’s warm and gentle spirit.  He took her hand without hesitation and played with her as if she was a big sister.  Daniele may have left us, but I hope her family knows that her legacy will be far-reaching and enduring.  

Daniele also inspired me to take pride in what we did at the VA.  Her ability to focus, dig deep, and interpret large amounts of information ran counter to my often aloof and scattered approach to our work.  She always brought me back into the mission and made me laugh while doing it.  She was the Moira Rose to my Johnny.  We would interpret guidance completely differently, with her dissecting the minutiae of what she believed they were trying to say and me trying to convince her that they had no idea what they were trying to say so we should just go with our guts.

A few months ago, Daniele told me that she believed her energy would go back into the universe after she passes.  I think that all of us who have been touched by her life can take comfort knowing that we will continue to feel that energy within us.

Daniele was a positive force in this world and she will be missed by ALL.. I'm truly sorry to learn of Daniele's passing and my condolences to her family and all that knew her at this difficult time.   
Daniele joining the VA to help veterans is a noble pursuit/career. However, from day one it was clear that Daniele was more than just an employee,  she was smart, friendly, fun, quick learner, excellent teacher, with a good caring/loving heart.  I had the pleasure of being one of her  instructors when she started, her supervisor for a time, we were colleagues and most importantly friends.  I could always count on Daniele to be a leader and not just complete the job or task, but to excel.  With her kindness she always had heart felt words when they were needed and she always had something funny, light hearted,  to say when those times were needed. 
Thank you Daniele for being that positive force.  Hopefully, prayers help your family with easing the hurt.

To the family and friends of Daniele, I am truly sorry for your loss, my prayers are with you. 

Daniele was my instructor at Detroit Region Office and helped me learn how to do my job. Whenever I had a difficult task - not matter the issue - Daniele would not hesitate to offer her assistance. Remarkably, she always had the correct answer and delivered it with respect, patience and topped it off  with a nice smile; her intelligence amazed me.
Daniele, you are missed.  Thank you for your effort and attention you devoted to me in the beginning of my career, and most of all thank you for being nice to me.

When I first came to the VA in 2014, I was excited, nervous and overwhelmed with the work I was about to do. Daniele was one of the first seasoned Veterans Service Representatives that helped me navigate the resources needed to excel at my job. She was tactful, direct, supportive, positive and one of the best trainers at the VA. She was always their to listen and I trusted her direction. Daniele, thank you so much for your love, care and concern for all of us at the VA. We will miss you ~

I felt Daniele's kindness as soon as we met. 
In a strange new work environment that was completely foreign to me with my background in teaching and little children, I was overwhelmed! With Daniele as my training coach I began to gain confidence. She was smart, knew her stuff and knew how to connect with people so they could learn and understand. For the next 16 years she continued to mentor and teach me and we shared stories about our children - she was clearly a good mother. One of my favorite stories I remember is when she told me how, then 4yr old Sophie liked to "fly" . And had detailed stories of her characters and adventures while "flying". And  at the end, Sophie said to her with a  wink, that she knew it was pretend. She was proud of Sophie and loved being her mother. 
Many will miss her. The world will miss her. I will miss her.

I hope you are at peace Daniele.  I hope your family is surrounded by love, support and signs you are doing ok and are with them. 

Thank you for all those debates with my errors. You won them all and it irritated my soul lol but, you made a mark and made me better. I specifically would double check and recall the things you taught me. No one had that impact on me and because of that, I was able to grow from that position into what I'm in now. Thank you Daniele. Also thank you for never judging me for never being able to pronounce your last name and genuinely laughing at my jacked up pronunciation, then laughing/jokingly celebrating with me when I finally pronounced it correctly. 

You will not be forgotten and will be so missed.
