Claire Ruth Wilson

Wilson, Claire R., age 81, joined her husband in heaven April 1. She was preceded by her husband, Harold of 62 years, a month ago. She was the daughter of Clarence and Ruth (nee Kay) Kickhoefel. Born and raised in Detroit, MI, she graduated from Cass Tech High School in 1948. Claire met Harold Wilson at Bethel Lutheran Church in Detroit. They married in May 1949 at Reformation Lutheran Church in Detroit. Harold and Claire went on to raise four children, all of whom married and ultimately produced ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Claire's passion for music led her to participate in many singing performances, and she provided piano lessons for many wonderful students as well. In addition to music, Claire's hobbies included bird watching, gardening, playing golf, sailing, and enjoying time at the family cottage. Claire's special gift to her family and friends was her ability to shine a positive light on almost any situation, and provide strong, spititual guidance to all who confided in her. Claire will be missed by many, but her love will transcend all time. Loving mother of Christopher (Nancy), Margaret (Kevin) Holevar, Kenneth (Linda), and Robert (Theresa). Dear grandmother of Christopher (Amy), Ryan (Cailin), Joshua, Jessica, Veronica, Katelyn, Karah, Gabrielle Holevar, Nicholas Holevar, and Cameron. Great grandmother of Emily, Jason, and Benjamin. Dear sister of Louise Kickhoefel and the late Joyce West. Beloved aunt to James (Mary), Thomas Szpyra, and many other adored nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday 2-9 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13 1/2 mile) Warren. Instate Wednesday 10 am at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, 16661 E. State Fair, Detroit. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to Cross of Glory Lutheran Church.
