When my church, St. Juliana, closed, and we joined Nativity of Our Lord, Chris was so inviting and welcoming to my family. He made my husband and I feel so welcome, almost as if he had known us forever. When I lost my husband, Chris was very supportive, loving and kind to me. I will truly miss him, his smile, and his spirit. He was a good friend. He is loved. I'm praying for you Chris, Justin and family. Praise God.

Chris was “my” letter carrier. One of the most generous person I have ever known. He always had a smile even when he was clearly in pain from his hip. We used to joke because both of us were facing the same challenge. Who was going to have their hip first. Chris won, I go tomorrow for mine. 
I could always count on Chris to lend a ear, a smile and sometimes even a hug. We talked about the world, we talked about the challenges of being a parent. The world has lost a truly beautiful person. Like others, I will miss him. My sincere condolences to his wife, family and friends. RIP Chris and thank you for the blessing of knowing you.

We are saddened to hear of Chris’s passsing! Our son is a friend of Chris’s son, Justin.  We only met Chris a few times but he was always very friendly, positive and easy to talk to.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time! 

Chris you will be missed.  I remember back in 1996 when I first met you when I moved to Detroit from Saint Louis. I told you that I played softball but didn't know anyone up here. You told me about Softball city and invited me out there. Shortly I started putting my own teams together and you were always the 1st to sign up and play on my teams. We have played for about 25 years. Yes it has always been a great experience. I'm glad to have called you a friend. The Force and HP Players Softball teams will miss you🥂

Chris had a smile & hug for everyone. Beautiful voice when he sang  in my church’s (Nativity) choir. Active is so many areas…
For several years he was also our letter carrier. His customers on our route really liked him as did our dog!  The old jokes about mailmen & dogs didn’t apply to Chris.
Seriously, he will be greatly missed.

Truly heartbroken to hear the news of Chris Scott's death.  I was pastor of Nativity Church where Chris attended.  When Chris would help at the altar as a Minister of Service or as a lector, I could always expect a little sparring  and joking to go on between the two of us.  He could always make me laugh and had a wonderful spirit.  The world will be less without Chris but I am so grateful that we all had him for 53 years.  Rest, my friend, and thanks for all the goodness you have brought to all of us.  We will all be back together, again!   I wish I could deliver this in person but know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

We are all shocked and sadden by the sudden loss of my wonderful cousin, Chris.  He always had a smile on his face and love in his heart.
My mother Rosie Marie Mansour- Blaine had a special place in her heart for Shirley's boys Chris and Craig. I'll never forget the image of them visiting her when she was in hospice.  They showered love on her and made her smile, she knew who they were.
You will always be held close to my heart dear Chris. Love, love, love, love, love. ❤️

Chris and I met in high school (Denby) he’s a true friend and gentleman.  He will be missed.

I’m having a VERY hard time processing this.
I doubt very much that I was alone in looking forward to Chris’s return to his route and--if I may say--his friends. Chris was SUCH a sweet guy. He genuinely liked the people on his route and took pride in his work. Deepest condolences to his family on the untimely loss of their treasure.

He delivered my mail every day. We became good friends. He was so very proud of his sons and so happy when his grandson was born. I was so saddened when Chris did not return to deliver the mail in my neighborhood. I will miss my dear friend. Rest In Peace. Love, Mrs. B

Chris, Jon and I will miss your positive presence on Putnam.  You always had a smile and a kind word for those you came in contact with. I only ever saw Chris about once every ten years because I live across the country, but every single time we saw each other he felt like a close friend, a really great person to hang out with, a treasured family member.  He was so much fun, so charming, and I adored him and his million dollar smile!  What an enormous loss to our family and to all who knew Chris.  Heaven has definitely gained a sweet, sweet angel.

I never had the pleasure of knowing Christopher Scott, but I know that he must have been an exceptional man to have raised a son as exceptional as Justin Scott. Please accept my deepest condolences. 

Chris Scott was a great man and a very dedicated Nativity Adult Choir member. He really put all of his heart into singing his solo in our Easter song. Rise Again. He will be surely missed.

Saddest moment ever was reading the email informing me of his passing.  Love and prayers for his family and his church family. We are all going to miss him. But we all have good memories to share. 

 I admired Chris for his amazing attitude and strength.  Grosse Pointe Shores City  Hall, Police Dept. and DPW never saw Chris without a big smile on his face! It was an honor to know such a wonderful person and he will truly be missed. 


Chris you are a kind and beautiful soul! All of us who knew you were blessed to do so. You will forever be loved and missed. To the family of Chris Scott, may you always be comforted by the love and memories shared. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you ❤️🙏🏽
