Arny was my neighbor and friend a wonderful person. He will be missed so much, my prayers go to the family. I hope I hear where his memorial will be.

Arnold was my cousin so I knew him from an early age. My aunt Ruth (his mother) had grown up on a farm near Manfred, North Dakota along with four other siblings. The other four siblings raised families on nearby farms, but Aunt Ruth moved to a suburb of Detroit, Michigan after she married uncle Otto (Arny's father). A highlight of every summer would be their trip to visit family in North Dakota. My aunt and uncle had planned a larger family, but were overjoyed when they finally had their one blessing. I remember that Arny was interested in electronics at a young age and would ride a bike many miles to help in an electronics shop. When I married and moved to Dayton, Ohio, my husband and I would visit Aunt Ruth several times a year and we would also visit with Arnold and his family. I keep photo/scrapbooks and there are a number of pictures of good times with the Krueger families. Arnold made a commitment to Jesus at a young age and did many things to assist in the ministry of the churches he attended. I can remember having several conversations about spiritual concerns with Arny. I know that Sue, Joe, Dan, and Sarah be comforted by many wonderful memories of Arnold. Mary Lucius

Dear Sue and family, how can I even begin to put into words the many, many memories I have of Arny? He was an encourager - he spent many hours encouraging me in my ministry both at Crosspointe and the Worship Arts Conservatory. He was a worker - he spent countless hours doing handyman and technology tasks at Crosspointe. How can I forget the many times we climbed up into the ceiling above the sanctuary to fix a dimmer pack or adjust the projector? not to mention the weekly rehearsals and services. He was an advisor - Every week he met with the worship planning team to help plan out the services at the church. But this was just the smallest part of his advice. Arny was never short on advice and never afraid to give it. We would discuss (and sometimes argue) theology, music, ministry, technology, and any other topic that came to mind. And his insight was so often right on the mark, causing me to rethink or dig deeper or simply marvel at his breadth of knowledge. He was a story teller. He always had a story to tell to go along with his advice. I heard stories about his children, his army days, his past home in Florida, his camping trips, the books he was reading, his experiences at Crosspoine, his father, and so much more. With Arny there was always another story :) He was a helper. If I ever needed help, Arny was more than happy to be there to serve. Whether it was putting in new sound equipment, cutting a tree down in my back yard with his trusty chain saw, fixing issues with my computer, or recording Worship Arts Conservatory concerts - Arny was there. He was a servant. Arny helped and advised and worked, but never sought to be noticed. Most people have no idea of all the things Arny did behind the scenes to help keep things working. I could say so much more and I am so very sorry to hear he is gone. I have lost a good friend. I know that Arny has earned the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master." Sue, may God comfort you in your loss.

Random memories: I met Arny in Engineering school at Oakland U back in the early 1970's, and he was my lab partner for some time. We instantly hit it off as we both had a consuming interest in audio. We even commandeered the entire hybrid computing lab some evenings as we designed things like a pop-free muting circuit for FM tuners. I kept in touch with Arny over the years, always amazed at his deep understanding of technology and his quest for truth in perception of the subtleties of sound reproduction, something we shared. Rest in Peace, Arny. And my heartfelt condolences to all his family.

Sue and Family, I’m so sorry to hear of Arny’s passing. He was always so kind and helpful to me at church. He sure did figure out all the audio to do all those VBS openings. He always had a story to share and a hand to help. My love and prayers.

Dearest Friend Sue and family, soo many stories to tell and soo many wise words of wisdom Arny shared with me and our family. And lets not talk about our ugly computer problems he was able to bring back to life. What an amazing man he was to our family. When it comes to sharing about Arny where do you start, since there are so many stories to share and you both were such a BIG part of our family for soo long. Arny had such a passion for teaching and when it came to technology, man, amazing. I would have no idea what he was saying, but I felt that just being around him and his big words, maybe his smartness would rub off of him and unto to me, ahh guess not. LOL, however, I did learn so much. Arny had a story or lesson in everything he touched and shared with you and I would be in awe of what an amazing man God had brought in my life. Even when helping clean out his childhood home, the stories he was sharing were awesome. Remember, the green glass bowl w/the 2 turtle doves from that cleaning adventure, we still have it and Arny will always be w/us. I always loved hearing about your summer hiking/canoe trips and would be amazed at how far you both would walk w/a canoe. Arny always had a willingness to help in every situation and those he touched were wiser and knew of his love for the Lord. I am so thankful that we were able to visit w/you both a few years ago. We as a family treasured that time. I wish I could be there in person Sue to hug on you and help out in anyway we could. We love you and know that Arny is with God. I will talk to you soon. Though I never met Arny in person, I felt as though I knew him through his audio work. He was one of the leading lights in a field rife with superstition and unproven theories. He could be counted on to shed real light on any issue to which he turned his attention, and it was good to know he was there, directing his laser-like attention on the nature of audio and audio perception.  His pioneering work designing, manufacturing and making available the ABX box helped me and many others blaze new trails in his chosen field, and he was a cheerful and unflappable presence in the public discussion of audio, even to those who never met him in person. My dad taught me a lot of things fathers might typically teach their sons, such as riding a bike, throwing a ball, driving a stick shift, and car repair. He also taught me a lot of things many fathers don’t teach their sons, such as chain-sawing trees and chopping wood, stripping paint, tarring roofs, demolishing and replacing walls and ceilings, and making home made fireworks. But the most important things he taught me were to enjoy life and not be afraid. These are really one in the same, and extend into everything he did. It is hard to think of things he did that he did not enjoy, and even harder to think of something he didn’t do because he was afraid. He taught us not to be afraid to take chances, and not to be embarrassed by the outcome of an effort, no matter how ugly. He taught us to not be afraid to fail, even appreciate the beauty and value of failure. He showed us how to find happiness in a tireless pursuit of doing something important, something that brought well being to others. He of course also taught us not to fear waterfalls, cliffs, fast moving water, climbing trees, bears, and other things we probably should have been afraid of for our own safety…but this was part of not being afraid and seeking out enjoyment in life. His lack of fear and desire to experience life drove his huge lust for information, which has served him well in the past decades as the information age developed. There never seemed to be a subject he was not interested in. As a kid, it seemed like he subscribed to over 100 magazines, covering over 100 different areas of interest. He read them all, and we read half of them (even Forbes and Harvard Business Review as a 10 year old). When cable television came about, he augmented the 100 magazine with 100 channels, focusing on Science, Discovery, National Geographic, etc. When cable added DVRs, he recorded them all and could consume even more. When the internet grew, he grew with it; first starting with user group boards and quickly exploiting the capabilities of the web by reading and building web pages full of information. With the lack of fear, and his wide pursuit of interests he showed us that embarassment is not something you feel, only something felt by other people. There is no such thing as cool vs uncool, there is just who you are, without hesitation and without shame. He never felt the judgement of people, he was just delighted to experience them, and showed a genuine interest in their person. He thought nearly everything was interesting. As such, he never had any hesitation to share information about his life with people, and would listen to and recall their story as if it was their own. With this interest in people, he could not avoid being generous with others. Not just from a monetary sense, but to seek to fill people’s needs using your own skills and interests. This ranged from helping people fix their car, renovate their house, fix their computer, better their stereo. He was always quick to offer help, even if just through a lengthy explanation about how something works. He also gave us all us a tremendous appreciation for music- perhaps it was force fed to us as kids by his 24 inch woofer that rattled the windows at 8am on a Sunday morning. We spent so much time as young kids dancing in our underoos, telling him to turn it down, turn it off. As teenagers, we told him to stop playing that type of old person music (Jimi Hendrix, Doors, Led Zepplin, etc) which in this day fills up my music library. He built his own massive library of at least 100,000, if not a million, songs. No one ever had to guess if he was proud of us, but he would tell you he didn’t understand how he ended up with such good kids. He always said he was not sure how a “bad student who never finished his masters degree” ended up with three children who all have advanced degrees, and all who succeed in the science and engineering fields. He always said it must be his wife. Certainly that is true, but we also watched the nights and weekends spent in his audio workshop, the computers and audio equipment projects strewn all over the house, and his commitment to them. With this, he also showed us that some things are simply too interesting and important to get around to putting your pants on before lunch time, or bathing that day. So it just wasn't all due who he married, he showed us how much fun it could be to pursue a passion; he showed us that when you aren’t afraid to pursue something you love, work and play are the same thing. So we just followed his lead, and sought fields and careers that allow us to get paid to play, not fearing failure, not caring about money more than necessary, and looking to do something with impact. With that formula, following in his footsteps, we all found success and happiness. We are eager to carry on his legacy for him. Most importantly, this would not have worked without balance. The balance his wife gave to him, and what she has passed along with him to us genetically, emotionally, intellectually and physically has been a perfect complement to the extremes in his own attributes. We have all sought out life partners after this model, and are happily following his footsteps this way also. I will miss my dad, but I will always find comfort in the parts of me that are him. He left behind many recognizable pieces of him all over the place, with everyone he interacted with.

Dear Sue, Sarah, Joe and Danny, We are so very sorry for you loss. We deeply apologize that we did not know when Arny actually passed away. We have been thinking of all of you and hope that as time passes the pain of his absence will gradually mellow into fond memories of all the crazy Krueger family “stuff” that your husband and dad got your family into. He will be dearly missed. We love you all very much.

Dear Sue and family  There are so many things that I could say about Arny . If you didn’t have the answer he would go find it look it up and come back with an answer . He was always there when you needed him but he was one of them that I am mired he took care of his family and love them with all his heart . now he is with his Savior and his son . Dearest Sue and family. I have been honored to know Arny for forty-one years. Knowing Arny has been an adventure of the highest magnitude. I sooo enjoyed his energy, passion and strong sense of humor. I will truly miss him. It is the beginning of a new era that will not be the same without him. Sue, I praise God for all the ways you and Arnie served at Crosspointe. You were some of the first people we met when we came there. We appreciate the countless hours he gave as a volunteer doing tasks that I can't even begin to understand. I loved hearing about your outdoor adventures and I hope to be as free spirited as you when I reach the retirement years. May you feel God's peace that passes all understanding as you live in the passing of your spouse. Sue & Family, I was so sad to hear about Arny’s passing. It is good to know he is able to see God/Jesus face to face - something all believers long for. Hello Sue, I am so sorry for your loss. Yet happy with the knowledge that Arny is now in the presence of his Savior. I never doubted what Arny’s opinion was on anything and appreciated his being an “open book”. I always appreciated his perspective and pragmatism. I will remember his large-hearted attitude and love for helping others. I’m praying that you may have peace in your heart in the days ahead.

Sue and the Entire Krueger Family, Certain people in life cross our paths that make a lasting impression and leave an indelible mark on our souls. Arny was one of those people for me. To say the least, he was unique. That is what I appreciated about him the most. On one hand he was the intellectual, on the other a mad scientist, on one more the outdoorsman, on still another the theologian, and on yet another the one who was always there to pitch in and help. I don’t recall that he shied away from too much. Though I have not seen Arny in quite some time, I thought about him more that you might think. I can still picture him in my mind to this day running around as if he was on his last mission in his sandals and bare feet. Sue, you and Arny were one of the first couples that reached out to us when Julie and I first came to CP. He exposed me to computers and built the first one we ever owned. We served on the church Board together when I was the Moderator, and I sincerely appreciated his unique perspective, even though on many occasions it caused me to work a bit harder. I’m saddened he is gone, I mourn with all of you and the entire family, but I rejoice in the fact he is now with the Lord and that he is fine beyond what we can imagine. We will see each other again, and I look forward to that glorious day. God’s blessing on you all.

I am so blessed to have been enriched by knowing Arny. His spiritual knowledge and wisdom was always exemplified through his actions. While i may miss him now i know we shall meet again!

Sue and children: We are saddened to learn of Arny's passing. I recall a few occasions when we corroborated on various endeavours . Fondest memory was his gracious assistance in making me a flyer to launch " Downspout Redirection Services ", which launched me into the handyman business some 28 years ago. We also developed and implemented a plan and documents to sell the building lots at the end of the parking lot at GPB, aka, Crosspointe Church, We enjoyed his humor and Christian compassion. To Sue and family, Debi and I knew Arny our entire lives. We have so many memories of Arny and his Godly parents, Ruth and Otto. It is nearly impossible to categorize Arny. He didn't fit neatly into any particular grouping. At noon, he may be chopping wood for his wood burning stove, at 3 tinkering with some new algorithm to eke out a little better sound on his self-created stereo, at 7 sitting down at a board or committee meeting at church, at 9 fine tuning the computer that he built with parts gathered from all over the world. He was truly a Renaissance man. Arny never met a subject he wasn't interested in. And it never took him long to become an expert or near expert on the matter. Every conversation with Arny made me a little smarter and a little more cognizant of how much I didn't know. He loved the Lord and knew his Bible. Arny always brought an educated, enlightened and often provocative perspective to the theological conversation. Arny was fun to talk to...he could almost always outlast me. He loved his family and was a man of consistency and integrity. I will never forget when He consoled Me after the untimely death of his son, Nathan ...it was supposed to be the other way around. My dear friend Arny was always there for me when computer help was needed. When I first met Arny he came to my rescue at a mutual friend's home when computer would not work. He came in saying "a damsel in distress" then informed me if computer was plugged in it would work. Also because of our mutual fondness for Algonquin Park in Ontario he could not see me "camping with a shovel." I will miss Arny. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust... Psalm 18:2 My prayers are with Sue and family.
