Grosse Pointe Farms resident, Angela Crea, 96, beloved wife of the deceased Joseph Crea, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2019, surrounded by family. She was born in Ernst, Pennsylvania on September 10, 1923, to Sam and Josephine Petrilli, spending her childhood in Detroit.
A seventy-year resident of Grosse Pointe Farms, Angela was involved in the community with her involvement at St. Paul Church and School, and as an active volunteer for many years at St. John’s Hospital and for the Bon Secours Hospital Assistance League.
Angela was, above all, a devoted mother who loved to host Christmas Eve dinner, surrounded by her loving family, making sure everyone had enough of her cheesy broccoli, mashed potatoes, and stuffing. Up until recently, one could find her working in her magnificent garden. She also had a keen sense of humor, epitomized by the time she (at age 70) demonstrated Thighmaster exercises to her grandkids.
She will be missed by her children, Patricia Ritter, Linda Hynes, David (Lori) Crea, and Diane (John) Crea Hamilton; her grandchildren, Lisa (Chris) Cannon, Michele (Francis) Gonzales, Paul (Lucy) Hynes, Kristin (Matt) Mann, Beth Hynes, Sarah Crea, John Hynes, Joseph Crea, Josie Hamilton, and her ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Joseph, she was predeceased by her sons-in-law, David Ritter and Paul Hynes, and her siblings Daniel Petrilli, Nancy Kay, James Petrilli, and Alfred Petrilli.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Capuchins Soup Kitchen.
