Mrs. Rebecca Jean Thompson, age 79 of Griffin, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Brightmoor Nursing Center after a valiant struggle with breast cancer.
Mrs. Thompson was born December 29, 1934 daughter of the late Robert & Myrtle Pollard Sangster. She was a member of the West Sunnyside Community Church and a former longtime faithful member of Harvest Temple Church of God. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Thompson.
Survivors include son & daughter-in-law, Ritchie & Leah Thompson; grandson, Jonah Thompson; granddaughter, Holly Evans and brother & sister-in-law, Royce & Betty Sangster. Cousins and other family also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca Jean Thompson will be held Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Rev. Hugh Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Sunday 1 hour prior to the service.
