Mrs. Shirah was born February 4, 1931 in Albany, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Esker & Ruth Kitchens Laney; her husband, Wilbur Shirah and brother, Rabie “Bubba” Laney.
Mrs. Shirah is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Kathy & Donald Payne; son & daughter-in-law, Tommy & Debera Shirah; grandchildren, Jason Payne, Brian Shirah and Michael Shirah; great-grandchildren, Corey, Brianna, Deanna and Sidney Shirah and Austin Payne and special friends, Brenda Whitten, Laura Goss and Annette Dempsey.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jean Shirah will be held Friday, July 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
