Lois Virginia Brinkley

Mrs. Brinkley was born July 20, 1925. She was a devout Christian and selflessly loved her family, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brinkley loved to cook, sew and knit and was considered “The Rock” for the family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady Maxwell and Opal Ratliff Maxwell; husband, George Tillman Brinkley, Sr. and brothers, Junior & Joseph Maxwell.

Survivors include daughter & son-in-law, Kathy D. Hobbs-Finney (Craig D.) of Jacksonville, FL; son & daughter-in-law, George T. Brinkley, Jr. (Nell R.) of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Virginia C. Rousseau (Rock R.) of Orlando, FL, Rebecca. Brinkley of Chattanooga, TN, James D. Hobbs, Jr. (Samatha J.) of St. Augustine, FL and Madelyn G. Finney of Jacksonville, FL; great-grandchildren, Melanie V. Rousseau, Gavin T. Hobbs and Bennett E. Hobbs; and sisters, Marlene Woodham of Griffin and Juanita Kidd of Valdosta, GA.

Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, July 16, 2016 in Westwood Gardens.
