Charlie M. Brown Sr.

Mr. Brown was born June 27, 1932 in Griffin, Ga. He was the son of the late Charlie T. and Annie Nix Brown. Mr. Brown retired from the Kmart distribution center. He was the former choir director at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Brown was a member of the McDonough Road Baptist Church, but due to health reasons and church location he was attending the Plainview Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lavelle N. Brown; brother, Robert T. Brown, and sister, Carolyn Womack.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Brown of Griffin; son and daughter-in-law, Charlie Jr. and Karen Brown of Locust Grove; daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Mike Rodgers of Milner; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Stephanie Brown of Milner; 5 grand children; 7 great-grandchildren; additional family members, Kevin Cardell, Kimberly Clupper, and Karen Hill; brothers, Gene Brown and Noel Brown, many nieces and nephews and other family also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Charlie M. Brown will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Minister Jonathan Brown and Minister Shane Brown will officiate. Friends may visit the family on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
